Nan –
My son in law has two of these, and insisted this is best thing I could get my son for an upcoming river trip. Proved true! It was the perfect weight to pull on in late evenings as the sun’s warmth left the canyons, and equally appreciated at dawn before the sunlight reached the canyon floor. I hear it also serves well as a pillow!

This hoodie is very comfortable! The outer material is nice and the fleece inside is nice and soft. It’s lightweight but keeps you nice and warm. The soft fleece feels especially nice on the arms. I just have some issues with the fit. I’m 5’6 with an athletic build. The torso fits perfectly and the length is a tiny bit long but I like my hoodies that way. The sleeves however are quite long and bunch up quite a bit around my wrists but then again I’m 5’6 so for a taller person this probably wouldn’t be an issue. The other issue is the neck. In the product image where he’s wearing the hood up it shows the top of the neck is about 1.5 – 2 inches under his chin and it lines up with his chin. This is not the case for me. The top of the neck comes up a tiny bit above the bottom of my chin but protrudes out a few inches. This isn’t a bad thing if you’re wearing it zipped up with the hood down because it keeps the neck from digging in under your chin or into your neck but it gives it a weird look and fit when you wear it with the hood up. While I love how comfortable this hoodie is I’m debating on whether or not to return it because I think I could probably find a different TNF hoodie or sweater that I would be happier with. I’d still definitely recommend this hoodie

Perfect hoodie for CA weather. You wont overheat on hot days and keeps you warm on cooler days/nights.
Michiko –
Love this hoodie! I wanted a full-zip lightweight fleece hoodie for active sports like tennis, hiking and mountain biking.
Thomas –
I like it as a easy fall spring zip up sweatshirt. It’s light enough to where you don’t sweat but just heavy enough to keep you warm. I had one before but lost it at work.
Oleksandr –

Zipper turns incredibly weird after first wash.
Color and fabric are great aside from that.

This mid layer outperforms all others in its category. I have Arcteryx Kyanite, Patagonia R1 and REI hyperaxis. All pill terribly on just light wearing. I wear this canyon lands all year, and it’s got ZERO pilling, even on the under cuffs. Would be amazing to have pit zips as this has the potential to be too warm in activity above 55ish. That’s being nit picky though, this is the most versatile layer I own. Perfect mid/base layer with just a shell and you’ll be warm down to the teens.
Here is my only con: they changed the design on these after 2020. The 2020 model has backing material all the way up the collar and under the chin. This made the chin area significantly warmer, but also helped the collar to “stand” on its own better. I happen to favor a stiff collar, and it was the jackets best feature. In the new version, the collar is very flimsy and folds over unless zipped all the way up. The other big change here was the shoulder seam. They moved it down towards the chest more on the 2021 and beyond version. This totally changes the fit, and makes it much less comfortable. I know there is a trend to move these seams off the should for comfort with a pack, but I never experienced discomfort with the should seam version.
Bottom line: still good, but if you can get yourself a 2020 version, it’s the best mid layer ever. I actually paid over 170$ for a 2020 in blue. Have another in burgundy. I own the new version in blue and it’s okay but I wouldn’t use it on the mountain.
