I love my hedgehog fastpack II shoes. This is the second pair I’ve owned. I hiked a lot of miles, on some rough terrain, with my first pair.

These shoes are great. I bought them because I live in Colorado and like to hike. I had a lot of trouble with painful feet and bought these shoes to fix the problem. Last Saturday I took a 9 mile hike up 14er in them and my feet did not hurt at all! This is my second pair of North Face shoes and they are both great! I’m a delivery driver and I need a sturdy shoe. The vibram sole is is great, not too flexible because that can fatigue your feet and not to stiff like a hiking boot. The extra covering around the toe helps protect the shoe from damage. Thanks for making a great shoe.

My use case for these shoes were for dog walks. I walk about about an hour a day, in all weather conditions, on a combination of sidewalk and groomed trails (no hiking). I wear these shoes as my daily about 70% of the time.
I originally purchased these based on TNF reputation for outdoor gear, I liked the styling, and have had good experiences with vibram soles in other shoes.
Sizing:
These shoes run a little big, so this might be a good thing for some, they also have a nice wide toe box. For myself they turned out to be slightly bigger than my true to size fit.
Performance:
Good waterproofing, I’ve walked in these in all sorts of conditions, rain, sleet, snow, and they have kept my feet dry, I am not doing heavy hiking or running, so my physical output is low, and sweat has never been an issue. The Vibram soles grip as expected. I have not experienced any hot spots in the shoes, and overall they do the job.
Durability:
I have had these shoes for just under a year, but only hav been wearing them for just under 6 months. At about month 4 the inside of the shoe heels have rubbed and worn through the material, exposing the inner heel cup. The front/top toebox fabric has started to rip, as a result they are no longer waterproof. This level of wear based on my usage (not hiking) is a little surprising, I am outside of the warranty window since I didn’t wear them immediately after purchasing. These are marketed as hiking shoes and as a result I thought would be a little more reinforced and have longevity for just regular walks.
Summary:
If you’re not too concerned about the overall life expectancy of the shoe, they are actually pretty decent, if you plan on using them for actual hiking expect less than half a year of use. If you’re just using them for regular walking, you might be able to squeeze a year out of them, considering I might walk more than the average person!

These are very comfortable hiking shoes. They’re light and don’t require any break-in if your feet fit this shoe’s last. The front is a little wider than a D, so that was good for me; there’s plenty of room to tighten the front if you have narrow feet.
The sole/lugs are very grippy on loose terrain.
