I bought the hedgehog hiker from my local Ace. They took a little while to break in, but were great for hiking in Idaho. I took them to southern Utah and they were a sand trap! Sand was caught in the mesh above my toes. I tried everything I could think of to get it out, but no luck. It got very uncomfortable to hike in because the sand pressed against my toes and caused some blisters. They were great in snow, but I would not wear them for desert hiking.

I like that there are actual eyelets for the laces, rather than just the ribbons usual today. The shoe is made, however, for longer and more slender feet rather than for my short, wide ones! I ordered these also because of the heel cup, which does feet supportive and stable.

today i received my “North Face hedgehog Fastback II”. this is my first purchased with the North Face brand. So I was a little hesitant to say the least.
Wow, was I surprised on its true size for my toes and the back heels to fit so good.
living in the mountains, I like to hike our trails, walk for miles hoping with no discomfort on my feet. My old shoes were giving out and so I decided to buy new ones. Glad I did. I have never had problems with my feet nor finding a shoe with a good fit. Thank you North Face.

I use the Hedgehog for streetwear in my hometown and while travelling; I use my spare pair (the ones I get muddy) for running trails and concrete. I have a history of back injury. The Hedgehog makes it possible for me to run 16K without my back complaining.

This particular shoe has given me a true fit and comfortable as I walk. Last weekend I went on a 7 mile hike where I live and I had no issues with them. I can say that the inserts are not good quality and for that I will need to replace them. The true size made my feet relaxed and of course that’s a plus.
I think in the future I will purchase a hiking boot instead of a low cut boot. This is my first pair of North Face. I’m happy with them.

I only had it a or a month and went on 3 hikes, easy to moderate, ave 4-5 mi tried on shallow stream, seemed waterproof. Light, comfortable, fits well, true to size, nice gray color, moderately priced, prompt delivery, helpful customer service.

Shoe looks great, and very comfortable fit. The price on sale was a steal. Unfortunately it is quite a wide fit – so I had to return. This model was no longer available unfortunately, so I ordered another shoe and I am thrilled with it.
If it hadn’t been for the size issue, I would not have returned it. 100% happy with it.
