Bottom line- DON’T buy this particular style of jacket as it is a total waste of money. I never write reviews, but I had to with this jacket- to WARN you! I have owned many North Face jackets over the years. It is the only brand I have bought over many years for myself and my family. I am a very loyal customer. This has been the worst jacket I have ever owned. The craftsmanship is not like all my other NF jackets. The jackets balls up and snags on the Velcro tabs with just normal casual wear. The jacket soaks up the water and doesn’t repel the water. The inside jacket wrist snap tabs broke the first time I wore it. I am extremely disappointed with my purchase and regret buying this jacket. It was a waste of my money. North Face should stop selling it. I wish I could return it but I purchased it during the summer and didn’t realize the poor quality until I wore it during winter/ski season. So I am stuck with it.

Perfect for skiing and casual mountain activities!

I love my new ThermoBall jacket. It is light but warm enough for temps at 12 degrees. I also love that you can take the lining out and have two different coats. The top is waterproof and the inside is quilted. Two coats for the price of one.
Samantha –
I love this coat! It fits true to size and is extremely warm. I wore it skiing in -5 degree weather and was warmer than a cup of coco on a cold winters day. If you’re looking for a great coat, this is it folks!
Patricia –
Great winter jacket. I work in events and need warmth but flexible, this coat did it all. Also has a lot of pockets which I love.
5’10” – 145lb – Size Medium
Jennifer –
The perfect jacket for snow activities! It’s not too bulky which I love and it has the zip out lining so I can remove it if I get too warm. I also love the little added cloth in the sleeve to wipe my glasses/goggles when needed. North Face really thought of everything with this one!
Melissa –
Haven’t used it yet but plan to wear it when we go skiing this month. Love the color. Medium size is perfect for layering underneath. Like the pocket placement.
Crystal –
Comfortable and wind resistant. Love the face cover that can be used or not depending on how far you zip the jacket.
Rachael –
Love it. Lightweight but warm and moveable. Finally found myself an “active” winter jacket. I am always feeezing and this one kept me comfortable when it was in the teens outside (with single digit wind chills).
Alexis –
Absolutely in LOVE with this jacket. For the past 3 years, I’ve purchased this jacket (all in different colors). On cold days, I wear both layers…and on warmer days, I just wear the inner layer only. My favorite is all the pockets. Keeps me plenty warm on the mountains. Highly recommend.
Megan –
I love the inner and outer shell. Very warm!
Suzan –
This is a great jacket. I bought it for our ski trip in Park City and it was absolutely perfect. The weight of it is great, not too heavy or bulky, but plenty warm. I like that you can remove the inner lining. Overall, a great purchase and highly recommend if you need a warm winter jacket.
Gabriele –
Very beautiful jacket. It is more like an vintage okker yellow color, which I like very much. Thin, lightweight, yet surprisingly warm.

This Northface Thermoball jacket is worth every penny. If you’re on fence, do yourself a favor and buy the jacket. Sure, it’s not the cheapest snow jacket out there, but as my fad used to say, “I can’t afford to buy cheap jackets”, which meant you can’t skimp on quality. It is well designed, both in form and function, the material is too notch, and the color is spectacular. Fit is ovetall standard fit, doesn’t run small nor big, so if you want to layer, go up one size. I personally like to wear a thin thermal under my ski jacket so I didn’t size down.
Vita –
Lightweight but perfectly warm. Only needed a base layer beneath. Very moveable and great for the slopes! Gorgeous color.
Tamara –
Jacket kept me super warm during our Colorado ski trip! Love the zipper is heavy duty won’t break!
Natalie –
love the jacket!

This jacket has been great for layering; outer shell keeps me dry when the snow is super wet and/or it is raining. Wind protection has been great as well. Inner layer also quite warm; don’t need it with 30s temps and I’m wearing a vest. Holds up well to teens and 20s temps on its own too (haven’t had it in cooler temps yet). Would be great if the hood cinched down better when out and about, e.g. not while wearing a helmet.

Jacket is lightweight and warmer than I expected. Purchased to replace an older North Face that was worn out. The armpit vents and many pockets are all very useful and easy to access. The color is nice and sometimes looks a deep purple color. Jacket is a little longer so works well for skiing or walking the dog.
Carmen –
Very light weight jacket! Versatile and the color is cute!
Keri –
Great weight and versatility. Recommend sizing UP from what your measurements tell you are needed. I am 5’6″ and 165lbs wear a medium in everything and needed a LARGE. Beautiful color!
Megs –
Great looking and functional ski coat, love being able to customize the warmth by removing the liner if it’s warm or keeping it in on those cold days. The fit is comfortable not too baggy not too slender would highly recommend to anybody looking for a versatile ski jacket.
Suyapa –
Loved this jacket and that it comes with a removeable outer shell. It was warm but did not feel bulky, would definitely buy again. The size runs a bit small and I like to layer up with multiple sweaters and warm weather gear. I typically wear between a small and medium but returned the small and went with a large.
Jessica –
3x fits my size 20 frame very nicely. The color purple is exactly what I have been searching for. Thank you for making plus sizes!!!
Diane –
Used it in my recent trip to US Northwest and it kept me warm and from getting wet since the weather was challenging
Love the color !
