Tysha –
I have this parka and it runs big. I’m 5’5 and ordered a large and I may have been able to size down. Overall it’s warm and comfortable.

Liked the coat, fit well. Except the sleeves, which come down past the end of my fingers. Am returning.

I am 5’5″ 120lb with a narrow build, and the small fit me well. This is a nice-looking coat with a lot of features I was looking for, however it had two big flaws: the front pockets are too high to put your hands in, and I much prefer snaps to the hook and loop closure. I really liked the way the sleeves went down over the hands, and I loved the internal media pocket. Also, it seemed like it would be a nice weight for when it is in the 40s or 50s.

DON’T buy this coat unless you want to spend 10 minutes trying to get it zipped and unzipped The zipper was off-track and impossible to zip because the velcro tabs kept sticking. Also the annoying velcro tabs catch on your knitted or wool mittens and hat. For $250, one would expect a top-of-the-line zipper that works like a dream. That said, it is very attractive, waterproof, very very warm and the perfect length.
Ellen –
One star for this coat sadly because for $250 one expects the zipper to work like a dream. The zipper is very sticky and catchy–ultimately I realized it was defective and off track. Other than that it’s a beautiful coat–very stylish. I got many compliments on it. It’s very very warm in addition to the huge plus of being waterproof.

This is a nice, casual jacket for before the temperature drops into freezing temperatures. (Then I revert to a North Face down-filled jacket that’ll keep you warm regardless of how cold it gets.) The hood will protect your hair in rain even if you want to forgo an umbrella for quick jaunts from the car to a store door. The olive green color I purchased is very nice, but I’d suggest a pashmina scarf in a bright color from Etsy to allow the jacket to seem more than just practical.

Zipper Sucks. Cheap and never worked out of the box. Don’t do it!

Fit and size were great- the pockets on the other hand are useless!

Runs large. Zipper too hard to work.

Fit and size were fine. The pockets are useless which is the reason it was returned!

Nicely fit. Not too heavy or too light weight. Love it.

True size. Really warm and soft. Very flattering.

I read all of the reviews on this parka, and yet I still purchased it hoping it wouldn’t be as bad as described. I own several TNF coats, jackets and parkas. The zipper on this parka does not work very well (gets stuck and requires several repeated attempts to zip up properly) and the velcro closures stick to everything (clothes, gloves) when trying to zip up the parka. Also, I couldn’t get over the awkward pockets. Like everyone else, I am used to a pocket where you can simply slip your hands in from the side. You cannot do this simple action with this parka because they are upright, needing to place hands from the top, which nobody can comfortably do. I wish TNF would design a modern sleek insulated rain jacket without all of the design flaws featured in this parka. Sadly returning it.
